Things like: pin it on the other guy, don't get in trouble, no one will notice if you take some petty cash are some of the things we hear today.
If no one can trust you you will never be able to get a job anywhere. A Job is a responsibilty given to you by someone else to take care of, or to make sure that someone elses property can and does operate properly so as to make money.
If I can't trust you to do what you say you can do then I have no place for you. Society will completely crumble as we further disintegrate our society. If no one can trust each other then we will end up having less and less help until no one trusts any one ever. We will down size till we've gone back to working all by ourselves. No one will have any relationships either.
Now I'm jumping to worst case scenarios.
We had an experience at work with one of our managers. We discovered that he was spending more money than we thought was necessary. We starting watching all his spending like a hawk. It wasn't fun. He was constantly frustrated that he felt like we were watching everything he did and we were. After a time it came to our attention that he had been involved in a legal scandal and had been accused of stealing around $70,000 from his former employer. Wow! We were really nervous then.
He didn't seem to be embarking large amounts of money but we did notice that receipts were not always turned in and he had taken quite a few liberties we didn't feel we're necessary. I mean how many times a week can you take executives out for dinner in a row?
When you are trusted by a company your job opportunities will increase as will your responsibilities and income. If you are willing to grow and learn on the job and you're trustworthy your opportunities can increase and grow.
